1,600 Purple Lights Honor Alzheimer’s Resident in Azura’s Community of Eau Claire

Azura Memory Care of Eau Claire’s Memory Tree Lighting and Candlelight Vigil

Tonight the residents, family, and friends of Azura Memory Care of Eau Claire will come together to honor, remember and cherish those with Alzheimer’s disease in their midst at their annual Memory Tree Lighting and Candlelight Vigil.

During the month of November a tree decorated with over 1,600 lights has burned brightly outside of Azura Memory Care, which is located at 3712 Damon Street in Eau Claire.  Each bulb is lit in honor of someone living with Alzheimer’s disease in Eau Claire.   This tree will remain lit from dusk until dawn throughout the month of November, which is also National Alzheimer’s Awareness month.

At tonight’s Vigil, which will be held at Azura from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm another tree will be added with white lights given in memory of those who have passed from Alzheimer’s, blue lights in honor of those living with the disease and red lights for the caregivers whose hearts go on despite of all this disease takes from them.  Each light costs $5.00 with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association.

In addition, we will featuring artwork created by our residents and provide an opportunity for attendees to socialize and partake in refreshments.  There’s no cost to attend and no reservations are necessary.  If you are in the Eau Claire come and join us, but if that’s not possible consider lighting your own candle and help us shine a light on Alzheimer’s disease.
