Language barriers can be difficult, especially when one has dementia. However, Kayla a caregiver at our Azura Memory Care of Sheoboygan home was able to use her fluency in Spanish to reach a non-English speaking resident.  Even helping him to overcome a fear of showering by making a special sweet bread known in the resident’s culture.  By gaining his interest and trust Kayla was able to successfully help him bathe and after they enjoyed their homemade bread together!  Thank you Kayla for finding a truly INNOVATIVE way to tap into the personal history of a resident and support them on their journey!
