Over 700 people attended the Alzheimer’s Association Leadership Summit 2013. Each of the three Alzheimer’s Assocation Chapters in Wisconsin were able to choose one volunteer to attend. Azura Memory Care is proud and honored to be chosen to have the only three volunteer represenatives attend this conference. Connie Thimmig, Paula Gibson and Tammy Pence attended the Leadership Summit in Dallas, TX. Azura Memory Care was also recognized at this conference for our City-Wide Thrift Sale in Eau Claire, which is one of the 16 fundraising events highlighted from across the nation.
The Alzheimer’s Assocation’s Leadership Summit is a unique opportunity for staff and volunteer leadership to share, learn and be inspired. This conference explored the opportunities for the organization through the nationwide Strategic Assessment, examined the role we play in systemic change within state and federal government, highlighted the leadership we provide to advance global research efforts and discussed the impact we strive to have in families’ and individuals’ lives. This conference provided the forum for best practices, tactics and tools and vivid discussion about insisting a world without Alzheimer’s is possible while tenaciously supporting people and families living with Alzheimer’s today.
