As a result, we use a holistic approach to tap into the different senses of our residents in a variety of ways; including the use of aromatherapy. Research shows that certain scents can evoke memories, enhance mood and invigorate appetite. In addition, many of our homes have what is called a “MOSAIC Sensory Room,” which offers our residents a multi-sensory space where they can reconnect with their environment, experience inner peace and help reduce agitation. The Sensory Rooms are equipped with opportunities to stimulate the senses-touch, sound, smell, and sight- and is modeled after the internationally known Snoezelen treatment program.
