Azura Memory Care of Oshkosh features hallways that are out of the ordinary. These hallways, or purposeful destinations, are designed to capture the attention of anyone walking through them. In this way, our Oshkosh assisted living residents feel invited to not only admire the decorations of each destination, but to interact with them – taking them back to a time when they used to go to school, garden in their backyard, quilt, or even be reminded of their wedding day.
Recently, the Oshkosh School District donated a chalk board and a few world maps that are now displayed as a purposeful destination, called “School House”. Residents enjoy writing on the chalk board and some even do a few math problems, just like in the old school houses.
Another destination, “Putting the Pieces Together” includes a beautiful quilt, donated by the Wisconsin Warmers quilting group, a teddy bear, and balls of yarn.
Come see and feel for yourself how these purposeful destinations are helping our residents be reminded of a mosaic of memories at the Azura Memory Care of Oshkosh Open House, February 7, 2013 from 2pm-6:30pm. Azura Memory Care of Oshkosh is located at 2220 Brookview Court, Oshkosh, WI 54904.
