At Azura Memory Care, we care about the health of our community. That is why we have joined the Alzheimer’s Early Detection Alliance (AEDA), a group of corporations, nonprofits and government entities determined to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Under the leadership of the Alzheimer’s Association, this Alliance is working to educate people about the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease and the importance of early detection.
Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease and no method to prevent its onset. Early detection is our only management tool, allowing those living with the disease – and their families – time to plan for the future. This may include building the correct medical team, enrolling in clinical studies or investing in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your loved one by having them join the Azura family of care.
It is often hard to determine what is truly a sign of advancing memory loss and that which is a typical age-related change. To help make this determination, the Alzheimer’s Association has created a list of 10 warning signs for Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias, which we have provided for you below. It is important to remember that every individual may experience one or more of these signs in different degrees. However, if you notice any of them, we recommend that you see a doctor or clinic that specializes in treating and diagnosing those with memory loss.
As a member of the AEDA, Azura Memory Care will be working with the Alzheimer’s Association to provide reliable information about memory loss and early detection both at our homes and to the community. Currently, we offer a variety of presentations related to this topic through our FREE Speakers Bureau, which can be accessed online at azura.sitespeedhosting.com, by emailing info@azuramemory.com or by speaking with our Director of Community Relations at the location nearest you!
