Kelly Atkins comes to Azura with a passion to help those living with dementia as well as their families. Her extensive background working in hospice and pharmaceutical sales helped prepare her to assist families and their loved ones as they navigate through the disease of dementia. Kelly also enjoys educating the community and increasing awareness about the disease. Kelly is a Dementia Specialist and a certified Support Group Facilitator. She is also a committee member for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
“My passion is working with our elderly population. Navigating the disease of dementia can be sad, frustrating and frightening for the individual and their family and loved ones. I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to help and to educate.”
From an Azura Team Member:
Kelly is truly exceptional. She has made our home complete! Kelly goes out of her way to make our new residents and family members feel secure in the choice they have made in coming to Azura. She provides families with as much time, information, and knowledge about why Azura stands above the rest in memory care. Kelly strives to build a strong relationship with all potential residents and families. Kelly knows every resident in our home and goes above and beyond to ensure they are happy! She knows one resident loves pies so she will bring in a cherry pie for her. She knows that another likes tea instead of coffee and ensures that’s what’s in her mug every morning. These are just a few very small examples of how she goes above and beyond , I could very easily make a list of how she treats every resident special and makes sure they know how much she cares. She spends time with each new resident upon their arrival to ensure they are comfortable in their new surroundings. Kelly manages to do all of these exceptional extras in the home while doing her job of letting our community know why we at Azura truly provide the best memory care in our area!! We are truly blessed to have this amazing women as a part of the Wausau team!
