Terra is our nurse for Azura of Oshkosh and Azura of Manitowoc! She says, “I have 3 children and 6 grand children. I have 3 fur babies who occupy a lot of my time. In 1994, I graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.S. in Forestry/Wildlife Conservation, I was literally “the monkey” swinging from the trees marking stands to promote forest restoration and growth. I started my nursing education journey in 2006 thru Fox Valley Technical College, graduating the LPN program in 2009, an associate degree in Safety Engineering in 2015 and wrapping up my RN in 2021. My beginning goal was to be an Environmental Health and Safety Director, but when starting to work in healthcare, I knew this was my calling. I started out nursing as a clinical nurse for a private physician and then 10 years working at Waupaca foundry as an Occupational nurse. When the covid crisis started, I hit the states as a travel nurse in LTC, mostly traveling the southern states. My hobbies include fishing, camping, riding my horses and spending time with my family. I chose this field because I wanted to give back and help care for people and contribute to providing safety and exceptional care to our aging community. I chose Azura because I wanted to make a change, not only for myself but also in providing the quality of care verses the quantity of care. I like tacos. >:O)) “
